Sentient by Design Stream is a technology that aims to bring in the pressure sensitivity or tactile perception into communication. This technology could prove to be more emotive during an interaction across distance. The technology has been tested in medical science already and intends to perform remote patient diagnostics.

Applications may range from product testing, advertising, medicine, personal communication and also, psychiatric help. Design Stream’s project won an award at Japan’s prestigious Osaka Design Competition. Sentient could pave way for the so-called third dimension of communication in the telecom industry.
